I have no idea whether this is going to work, but it’s something I have been thinking about for some time we did something similar on a forum site once and it was outstanding.

The idea is a story or perhaps book that has many authors, now thats not unusual these days but what I was wondering whether we (the internet bloggers) could write something together. The way I envisage this working is:

I’ll start the ball rolling, write my opening paragraph etc, then I’ll nominate someone to write the next part sending them a link to the guidelines etc, they read what has been written so far and write the next bit in their style on their blog – they then nominate someone else to continue (linking the guidelines) and so on etc etc.

Things could get massively out of hand, but I think we should try – I hate laying down rules but clearly something like this needs guidelines else all hell could break loose.

• All contributors should link to the starting post before the contribution (http://buel.kissthis.net/?p=121), this will make it easy for those wanting to read the story to find the beginning.
• No one person owns the story, it is a cumulative effort and therefore belongs to the contributors as a whole.
• You can introduce or kill off any character you wish to providing the it doesn’t detract from the overall storyline – hopefully we’ll not end up with 400 named characters (hehe)
• There is no limit to how much or how little you write, just that you write something
• You may nominate only one person to contribute the next content, if that person doesn’t wish to be a part of this or does not write the next part within a week, then you should nominate someone else.
• The genre is not set in stone, whatever your taste is in books – let it influence the story.

My concern is that we all pass this onto people in the same hobby groups (i.e World of warcraft etc) so if you’re a regular at a site that is outside of your blog subject then thats a great way to spread it around

So I’ll start this going which will be tomorrows post – and then pass it onto somone to continue the story – meantime any volunteers to do the second part – then comment here (be nice to hand it onto someone who wants to get this going)
