We extended our raid from last week as we had to abandon the Tuesday night run due to unforseen circumstances, this way we got to see some other bosses. Previously we had put down:

• Flame Leviathan
• Ignis the Furnace Master
• Razorscale
• XT-002 Deconstructor
• Kologarn

We moved on to Auiaya firstly (or the bloody cat woman – as some of the more experienced members named her), first of all the trash mobs around her are a little more trickier than the normal wade in, kick ass, then scrape up the warlocks (hehe) – you need to approach this gently, a pair of Storm Tempered Keepers are pulled together one tank grabbing each and pulling them to a good distance apart using the circles on the floor as a guide keep them at either side of this – too far and they get “separation anxiety” which give 150% damage buff, then one at a time, they summon a Charged Sphere which glides accross the circle to the other Keeper – this needs to be nailed fast (it can be rooted or otherwise stopped in it’s tracks) if this reaches the other they get a buff  (60%  damage & an AOE ability) – so quite easy tictacs, putting both mobs down at a siimilar speed so they die pretty much together to stop the buffs.

Now – that bloody cat woman, I’m not gunna take alot of space to explain the tictacs – if you wanna know the best tactic, I would recommend WoWwiki (linkage to tictacs), they cover these fights excellently, and I’d only be copying it all into here. My view from a healers perspective is to watch the Feral Defender, that little pussycat has a rather nasty pounce and bite, its completely random and I found myself spell locked on a few occasions as it Feral Rushed me during a nourish you cant unfortunately get warning as there appears to be no pattern but this just adds to the flavour of the boss, we did have to take a few attempts but finally we downed her (all this is new content to 75% of the raid).

Next up was Hodir, clearing the trash here is quite straightforward, theres snowmounds which spawn 6 or so worms which are bread and butter for the AOE guys, a few patrols containing 2 ice rumblers and a revnant (the revnant needs to go down first), again a great tactic guide is up on Wowwiki – this boss had us beat, to be honest it was an introduction to the boss as much as anything we all understand the tactics now, and we’ll be back for him another night, but it was nice to go there see him and understand how to fight him. (Our raid leaders are extremely good to the raid, they take us to the boss explani it all, have a few bashes at it if all goes well great, if not no problems we’ll move on, nothing worse than repeatingly hitting your head against a brick wall without getting any further and just focussing on one boss!).

The Assembly or Iron was decided as our last focus before we move on to Onyxia for a quick trip (Onyxia is pretty much well known throughout the raid so it’s nice to end up there for some loot) again this was another new boss, and again we were beaten by them, they do alot of situational damage, which unfortunately we succumbed to. It was great to see this area also, we’ve all gone away to read up on the tactics ready for next time.

So that closed our Ulduar raid for the evening, it would have been nice to put some more bosses down, but being realistic for a minute no-one likes hitting the same boss over and over watching their repair bills mount up and up (over 100g for the night lol) I reckon we’ve got the best plan, try if it fails, get the tactics right for next time!

Onyxia – I’m a big fan of this ole dragon, she drops some really nice loot, and if all goes well you can get this wrapped up in no time at all. We took her down 3rd attempt, we got really unlucky with the add’s spawning as phase 3 began, she landed, Whelps spawned and a sentry entered all together, there was not alot we could do with that. 3rd pass went like a charm. I managed to grab a nice Helm for my tanking spec – altho I do have to say I look a little like a reindeer – Stormrage Helm.

Other than that I did manage a quick Zul’Gurub, I still cant get those rares to drop! but working on it – theres a new version of Fraps I need to download – and then I’ll start trying to edit some movies for you
