Yeeks, the week is crashing away all to fast again, and yike I didn’t get time for yesterdays post…… and I had Ulduar to talk about.
Okies, from the top – Tuesday, Ancient Shadows hit Ulduar – man I love that place (seriously, does that make me warped?) Once again I was bundled into the Seige engine (tank) and had a new “tailgunner” who did a tremendous job as we sailed thru wave after wave of trash mobs – we did have one slip up which saw the other tank fall thru the floor and vanish (bug I guess) we continued clearing trash whilst we waited for another seige engine to spawn, one tanked this caused an overload on ours and we exploded – so we had to wait for another to spawn (was bloody hilarious) eventually after we had all caught back together we had our only wipe on The Flame Leviathan, an accidental pull grabbed the last mobs and the leviathan (a chopper I believe grabbed them both), we took him down to 20% (ish) which for an unprepared pull, with damaged vehicles is pretty impressive.
Second time round we were well prepard and wiped the floor wih him – I firmly believe we have the tacs sorted for this boss – he dropped lousy loot, one of which went for disenchanting, and we pressed on. Two of us had prepped for XT-002 Deconstructor so we bounced down the corridor towards him only to be pulled back – it was decided we go for Razorscale instead – wow that came back to bite us on the ass, I only had a short time left (I hadn’t signed up but went for guild support) and we quickly went thru the tacs, wowsers that is one intense fight – the raid is split into two, and I was assigned to heal a Druid (OT), ‘Lock, Rogue, Hunter & Myself – naturally I thought this should be easy – mostly range and a rogue who can use evasion if the $h1t hits the fan, well frankly it did hit the fan – and very fast – unfortunately we were very new at this one and unsure on where to stand etc, the range DPS were a little too far apart, and too far from the tank – I couldn’t physically heal them all without running around – I cut my losses to concentrate on the tank and had to lose one of the DPS – this lasted next to no time wihout DPS the trash builds up and up, the Druid Tank took 3 big (12k+) hits on the trot – I threw everything at it, but he fell – naturally a wipe followed fast, Wipe 1 (lesson learned – ask the DPS to stand closer to me), pull twoI had much better control of things keeping the tank up, the raid leader called for everyone to focus DPS on one mob, this pulled everyone close together and our Druid tank pulled the threat off the DK – this was the end of him, as our DPS then fell – our remaining tank unable to be healed thru that much damage went down – we wiped then.
I had to call it a night at that point – but I gather it didn’t get any better – Our MT had a repair bill of 150+ gold. However we now have a better understanding of what to expect in there, and with the instance “nerf” it should be a little easier next time round.
Looking across to my hunter, dinged 59 – got cooking up to 301, skinning to 309 so all is good there, I need to spend some more time fishing (265) but I’m really enjoying it at the moment, so all is good.
So what you all been doing?
